The other side of the mountain

Five mountains in 30 hours. Devil’s Path I have a few words for you. First there is no path. No winding whimsical trail around multiple mountainsides.

No sir. The devil is a rock free climb straight up the side of the mountain and then right back down.

I get the “shortest way between two points is a straight line...” But this was utterly ridiculous. And unrelenting.

I woke up to rain and zero visibility. The rocks were slippery and wet. I fell more times than I could count. Hugged trees to vault to rocks below. Pulled, dug and gritted my teeth.

I came out on the other side exhausted and completely poured out.

But also filled with such joy, strength and elation.

You know what’s on the other side of the mountain?

Another mountain - hahah - that’s what I found out today.

But such is life.

Tonight I am tucking in at a Hampton Inn. They have a jetted tub waiting for me!

Sore and aching but feeling such love and gratitude. Thanks for being part of my journey!

What will yours be?
